Bristol Free School

We designed Bristol Free School, an academy for 1,090 secondary age pupils, with an annual intake of 200 children. The scheme has transformed two redundant DEFRA office buildings into a dining hall and a dedicated teaching block. There is also a new state-of-the-art sports hall and drama dance studio, with athletic facilities and a grassed sports pitch completing a secure seven acre campus.

At the time of completion, the scheme was the largest free school in the UK.

We worked closely with all stakeholders to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive school in which academic success is encouraged alongside the development of individual flair, creativity, talent and personality.
